Robert Christian Sunga epitomized and transcended what it means to be a “rock star.” As a musician who played multiple instruments and various styles, he drew inspiration from an array of indie artists. Rob’s zeal for performance and communication continued to take shape in his versatile abilities as a magician and dancer. Regardless of Rob’s many modes of creative expression, he ultimately directed his passion toward the good of others. Although Rob suffered at the end of his life, he never lost his generosity of spirit and kindness of heart. His life inspires and challenges us to give of ourselves, beyond ourselves, through our unique capacities.
Rob’s Rumble is an annual tribute concert to honor Rob’s legacy. The event will equally benefit the Saint Peter’s Prep Music Program and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. As we gather as a community to sing and dance, Rob will surely rock with us in spirit. It is fitting that Rob’s Rumble will be held at Saint Peter’s Prep, not just because he was an alumnus, but because the school’s namesake means “rock.” So, let us make Rob’s Rumble a “rock” for those in need.
